**SOLD**
Extremely rare ca 1925 Weissenborn Style B, Size 0 X braced Parlor guitar. Manufactured by Hermann Weissenborn in Los Angeles California. There are not many of these out there and certainly not in this stunning condition.
This gorgeous instrument has no crack, and the only sign of repair is a tastefully filled small strap pin hole at the heel. Very cool trademark Weissenborn “Bat Wing” bridge you could stare at all day. The 80 plus year old tight finish crazing of the lacquer on the flamed Koa is simply gorgeous.
The comfortable V shaped neck and headstock are all Koa.
The guitar is all original sans a bone saddle in place of the original brass bar. Original Fleur-de-lis engraved tuning machines with the cream colored buttons matching the bridge pins.
The X braced beauty features a deep body, 4 ¼” at the lower bout and 3 ½” at the upper bout. Action set a ca. 4-5 mm at 12th fret, suitable for Spanish finger style or if you want to also for some great lap style slide play.
Nice wide 12 fret Ebony fingerboard measuring 1 7/8” at the nut. 13 1/2″ wide lower bout.
The sound? Remarkable. Feel free to contact us for videos & see & hear for yourself…
This stunning guitar speaks out from the roaring 20s and says - play me!
